(Portland, OR) -- A man is recovering after becoming stranded in the Willamette River. KATU reports a man was walking near the river early yesterday morning when he heard someone yelling for help. He looked into the water and saw a man hanging onto the bow line of a 200-foot yacht. The man reportedly waved his arms at people on the boat to alert them to the man in the water, and the boaters responded by throwing him a life jacket. Portland Fire and Rescue then pulled the man from the water and took him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It's not yet clear how the man ended up in the water.
