Man Arrested After Allegedly Swinging Knives At Police

(Portland, OR)  --  A man is facing charges after allegedly swinging knives at multiple police officers outside the Oregon State office building in Portland.  Police responded to the building on Northeast Oregon Street yesterday afternoon on reports of a man with a knife.  Responding officers told him to drop the knife, allegedly prompting him to pull out a second knife and start swinging them in the officers' direction.  Police used "less-lethal defense foam" rounds on the man, but they had no effect.  Police were eventually able to take the man into custody after about 20 minutes.  He's being charged with menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.
