(Vancouver, WA) -- A Clark County Sheriff's deputy is recovering from minor injuries after putting his patrol vehicle into the path of a driver heading the wrong way onto I-5. The sheriff's office says the driver was headed south on the northbound ramp of the freeway near Battle Ground yesterday morning when the deputy noticed and jumped into action. The deputy turned on his emergency lights and drove into the middle of the ramp to prevent the vehicle from entering the freeway. Police say the driver failed to stop and crashed into the deputy's vehicle head-on. The deputy arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
