(Newberg, OR)  --  A mother and two children are doing OK after jumping from a second-story window to escape a fire at their apartment in Newberg.  Fire officials say the family became trapped inside their home after it caught fire early yesterday morning off South River Street.  Police got to the scene before firefighters and tried to enter the apartment to help the family, but the smoke was too thick.  Officers found the family preparing to jump from their window and assisted with catching the two children and helping the mother down.
