Students Find Body While Working On Project In Eugene

(Eugene, OR)  --  An investigation is ongoing in Eugene after some high school students found a body while working on a project in the Amazon Creek Natural Area.  The Eugene Police Department says the students from Churchill High School were working in the area near 11th Avenue and Oak Patch Road yesterday when they discovered the body of a deceased man.  Investigators say it appears the man died from suicide, but the Lane County Medical Examiner is set to investigate.  School staff says members of the Eugene School District 4J Caring Response Team will be available on campus to support students affected.
