(Portland, OR) -- A suspect is officially charged in the stabbing of an off-duty Portland Fire lieutenant in southwest Portland. Authorities say 30-year-old Carroll McClendon has been charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Court documents say the victim was with friends at the Kingston Sports Bar and Grill in southwest Portland on January 18th when McClendon walked in off the street and stabbed him. Police arrested McClendon three days later. The fire lieutenant was treated at a hospital and is continuing to recover at home.
