Residents Petition For Two Counties To Join Idaho

(Salem, OR)  --  Residents in two Oregon counties are petitioning to join Idaho over recent quarrels with Democratic leadership in the state.  Petition organizers say rural counties in Oregon have become "outraged" by recent laws that threaten their livelihoods, industries, wallets and their right to bear arms.  The "Move Oregon's Border for a Greater Idaho" organization said Josephine and Douglas counties have accepted ballot initiatives supporting a goal of joining Idaho.  The group must gather more than five-thousand signatures combined from both counties by August 5th for the initiative to appear on the ballot in the general election in November.
