(Portland, OR) -- A Portland man is facing a year of probation after pleading guilty to shooting a pellet gun from a 15th story apartment unit. Prosecutors say 37-year-old Michael Erin Gorman pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm for the incident in September. Prosecutors say he prompted fears of a potential mass shooting when he started firing his realistic-looking pellet gun from his window during a busy weekend in northeast Portland. In addition to the probation, Gorman is also required to complete 40 hours of community service and to destroy his pellet gun.
