Jury Rules Jeremy Christian Callously Disregarded Life In MAX Stabbings

(Portland, OR)  --  Jurors in the trial against Jeremy Christian say he callously disregarded life when he stabbed three people on a MAX train in 2017, killing two of them.  The jury made that ruling yesterday after reaching a decision on six sentencing enhancement questions.  Jurors agreed that Christian demonstrated callous disregard for the value of human life and showed no remorse for his actions.  The jury convicted Christian last week on all 12 counts facing him, including first-degree murder, attempted murder and hate crimes.  Christian stabbed Taliesin Namkai-Meche Radio1379and Ricky Best to death and injured Micah Fletcher on a MAX train in 2017 after they stood up for two Muslim women whom Christian was verbally assaulting.  A judge could issue a sentence as soon as next month.
