Police Warn Residents Of Phone Scam

(Vancouver, WA)  --  The Clark County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a new phone scam targeting people in Oregon and southwestern Washington.  The office says the scammer is calling people up and telling them they need to make a payment because of an outstanding warrant.  The scammer generally asks for the payment in cash or pre-paid gift cards.  The Sheriff's Office says deputies will never ask for cash or demand a payment over the phone.
