(Portland, OR)  --  Portland-based McMenamins is laying off nearly three-thousand employees as the company temporarily closes all of its pubs, hotels and restaurants due to the coronavirus pandemic.  That's nearly the company's entire staff.  The company says it's drastic but necessary to allow employees to file for unemployment benefits.  For the next several weeks, only the company's bottle shop in Northwest Portland remains open.
