Portland May Issue Shelter-In-Place Order Over Coronavirus

(Portland, OR)  --  The city of Portland is considering issuing a shelter-in-place order to help fight the spread of the novel coronavirus.  The order would require residents to stay inside their homes except to go to grocery stores and medical facilities.  KATU reports the policy is still in draft form and is being circulated among county officials.  Mayor Ted Wheeler's office says the city is planning for multiple contingencies while seeking the guidance of public health officials.
