(Portland, OR)  --  The government agency that oversees the Portland metropolitan area is laying off 40-percent of its staff due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Oregon Metro sent a letter to employees making that announcement yesterday.  The agency says there would also be between five-percent and 20-percent schedule reductions or furloughs in all departments.
