City Of Portland To Cut $100M

(Portland, OR)  --  The City of Portland is asking employees to make sacrifices to avoid layoffs.  Mayor Ted Wheeler has given up his salary for the rest of the calendar year, except for health care deductions.  No cost of living raises will be given to non-represented employees.  Merit increases are frozen for non-represented employees and they're required to take 10 days of unpaid leave between April 30th and October 7th.  The city is also working to negotiate similar changes with union employees.
