(Portland, OR)  --  A Portland man is facing nearly 34-years behind bars for sexually abusing a girl placed in his care by the state. That sentence was handed down yesterday for 41-year-old Matthew Zamora, who was found guilty last year on several counts, including sexual abuse. Zamora, who is a registered sex offender, has a history of sex crimes dating back to 1997. In this latest case, the state put the victim into foster care in 2015. She was then placed into Zamora's care in 2018, according to prosecutors. Shortly after the placement, police received information that Zamora was likely abusing the girl.
