Carmen Rubio Becomes Portland's First Latina Commissioner

(Portland, OR)  --  Nonprofit director Carmen Rubio is set to become Portland's first Latina commissioner.  Ballot counts from Tuesday's primary election show Rubio winning the race for Portland Commissioner Position 1 with 68-percent of the vote.  Rubio will replace Amanda Fritz, who announced her decision not to seek reelection last year.  Rubio is the longtime executive director of the community nonprofit group Latino Network.
