(Portland, OR)  --  Police and local leaders are meeting with Portland protest organizers following several days of demonstrations in response to the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.  KATU-2 reports Mayor Ted Wheeler is among several leaders who met with protesters and community activists yesterday for the first in a series of meetings.  Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill, Multnomah County Sheriff Michael Reese and Portland Police leaders were also present for the meeting.  Yesterday marked the fifth straight day of protests over the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by a white police officer who kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes, suffocating him.
