Thousands Gather For Fifth Night Of Protests

(Portland, OR)  --  Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Portland again yesterday for a fifth night of protests against the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.  Between three-thousand and four-thousand protesters gathered at Pioneer Courthouse Square last night before marching over the Burnside Bridge into southeast Portland.  There, protesters sat on the ground and listened to several speakers and protest leaders, who announced plans to return again tonight for another protest.  The Portland Police Bureau thanked the protesters on Twitter for keeping their demonstration peaceful.
