City Workers Get Bereavement Time To Mourn George Floyd

(Portland, OR)  --  City workers in Portland are receiving time off to grieve the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and other black people killed by police across the country.  Mayor Ted Wheeler announced yesterday he's giving city employees 40 hours of bereavement leave to grieve and reflect.  Wheeler says the nation is facing a "collective grief and trauma coming from a culmination of oppression that is over 400 years old."
