City Council Approves $16M Cut To PPB

(Portland, OR)  --  City Council is cutting millions of dollars from the Portland Police Bureau's budget.  City Councilmembers voted three-to-one yesterday to approve the 2020-2021 budget, which includes a 16-million-dollar cut to funding for the police bureau.  The budget also dissolves the city's School Resource Officers, Transit Division Program and Gun Violence Reduction Team.  Councilmembers say the funds will be redirected to various community and social service programs.
