(Portland, OR) -- Multnomah County is committing nearly two-million dollars to a community investment plan aimed at supporting individuals before law enforcement intervenes. The funding is part of the county's 2021 budget approved by commissioners yesterday. Commissioners also approved 100-thousand dollars to expand the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health program, or REACH. The more-than-two-billion-dollar budget also includes 90-million dollars for the county's response to the coronavirus pandemic and 32-point-six-million dollars for the joint office of homeless services.
