(Portland, OR) -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon is suing the Portland Police Bureau over its alleged attacks on journalists and legal observers covering protests against police brutality. The ACLU of Oregon announced the lawsuit yesterday. The lawsuit accuses the police bureau of targeting journalists and legal observers, citing reports from the Portland Tribune, the Oregonian and the Willamette Week. Several journalists have accused police of violently shoving them or hitting them with batons after they identified themselves as journalists covering the protests.
