(Hood River, OR)  --  Transportation officials are ordering restaurants in Hood River to take down their expanded seating sections along Highway 30.  The Oregon Department of Transportation issued a letter yesterday giving restaurants 24 hours to remove the so-called "parklets."  The department says the order is in response to a law prohibiting businesses from profiting off of public property.  Many restaurants have been expanding their outdoor seating arrangements to help comply with pandemic-related social distancing guidelines.
