Officials Speak Out Against Unmarked Vehicles In Protest Arrests

(Portland, OR)  --  Local officials are speaking out against federal agents for grabbing people off Portland streets and hauling them away in unmarked vehicles.  Protesters have demonstrated outside the federal courthouse in Portland for weeks.  Acting Homeland Security Director Chad Wolf said on Thursday that federal agents will continue to protect federal facilities and those inside.  Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has said city officials and local law enforcement neither need nor want federal officers patrolling streets.  Oregon Governor Kate Brown called for federal law enforcement officers to leave Portland and said Wolf is on what she called a mission to provoke confrontation for political purposes.
