Viral Video Shows Federal Officers Beat Man With Baton, Pepper Spray Him

(Portland, OR)  --  A Portland man is speaking out about a viral video showing federal officers beating him with a baton over and over again before pepper spraying him in the face.  Fifty-three-year-old Chris David tells the Oregonian that Saturday night was his first-ever protest, and that he just wanted to talk to the federal officers.  The U.S. Naval Academy graduate and Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center laboratory scientist says he approached the federal officers to "ask them about the oath they took" when one of the officers started hitting him over and over again with a baton.  Video of the incident shows the 280-pound former wrestler passively accepting the beating until another officer pepper sprays him in the face, prompting him to finally raise his hands and walk away.  David says the group of federal officers "seemed like a gang," adding that they appeared frightened and didn't seem to have any tactics.
