Federal Officers Arrest 18 Portlanders

(Portland, OR)  --  More than a dozen Portland protesters are facing federal charges.  U.S. Attorney Billy Williams said federal officers are arresting 18 people for their alleged roles in what he calls violence at the federal courthouse in downtown Portland.  City officials have asked the federal officers to leave because they say they've become a flash point for demonstrations and are making the situation worse.  President Trump has said he is getting tough on out-of-control violence.  Protests have been going on in the city since the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in late May.  Most of the demonstrations have been nonviolent.
