(Portland, OR) -- The top deck of the 108-year-old Steel Bridge in Portland closes Sunday through the month of August for TriMet's most extensive light rail improvements in 34 years. It'll increase reliability, but it also means re-routing all vehicle traffic, five bus lines, and disrupt MAX trains system-wide. Shuttle buses will run every five to seven minutes carrying MAX passengers across the river between Old Town/Chinatown and the Rose Quarter. Passengers should allow an extra 30 to 45 minutes for delays. The 17-million-dollar project is expected to create 450 jobs.
