Woodburn Man Arrested After Four-Hour SWAT Standoff

(Woodburn, OR)  --  A Woodburn man is facing several charges following a standoff that lasted more than four hours.  The Marion County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a home off Highway 219 Northeast yesterday on reports that a woman there had been assaulted by her boyfriend.  The suspect left before deputies arrived but later returned with a gun and locked himself inside the home, threatening to kill himself.  Deputies helped family members inside the home escape.  The suspect eventually emerged from the home after SWAT team members used gas munitions to flush him out.
