Protesters Gather In Downtown Portland For 69th Night

(Portland, OR)  --  Demonstrators gathered in downtown Portland again last night to protest police brutality and systemic racism in law enforcement.  About 100 protesters gathered in Peninsula Park and then marched to the Portland Police Association building on North Lombard Street, where they listened to speakers and chanted.  Another group of protesters gathered outside the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct, and yet another group congregated outside the Multnomah County Detention Center.  Last night marked the 69th consecutive day of protests in Portland following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May.  The Portland Police Bureau says officers stopped a handful of protesters from trying to break into the police association building.
