Protesters Face Off With Police For Three Hours At East Precinct

(Portland, OR)  --  Protesters gathered at the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct building again last night and faced off with officers for three hours on the 71st consecutive day of demonstrations in the city.  The Oregonian reports about 200 protesters marched to the precinct building around 9:30 last night, chanting the names of people killed by police in Oregon.  Police declared the gathering unlawful within minutes after a handful of protesters allegedly started splashing paint on the building.  Officers used stun grenades and smoke bombs to push protesters out of the area.  Police also closed 106th Avenue from Washington Street to Cherry Blossom Drive to everyone, including journalists.
