Nurse Sentenced To Prison For Heroin Conviction

(Portland, OR)  --  A former Portland nurse is being sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to possess heroin with the intent to distribute.  Sixty-year-old Rene Nunn of Vancouver, Washington was sentenced to eight months in prison yesterday.  Nunn was a registered nurse at Adventist Medical Center in Portland when she and co-conspirator 62-year-old Darlene Sturdevant drove into Portland with 87 grams of heroin in Nunn's purse.  Police say the pair had driven from Vancouver to Portland with the intent of distributing the heroin.  Sturdevant was sentenced to 14 years in prison earlier this year.
