9-1-1 Calls Go Unheeded Due To Police Response To Protests

(Portland, OR)  --  Authorities are saying dozens of 9-1-1 calls went unheeded in Portland last night due to the Portland Police Bureau's response to local protests against racism and police brutality.  Police issued a statement saying that more than 60 calls for police service were on hold around the city.  The police department claims officers were unable to respond to calls including "theft, vandalism, hit and run, alarms, and stolen cars" because so many officers were sent to enforce the protests.
