Suspect Charged In Protest Shooting

(Portland, OR)  --  Charges are being filed against a man who police says confessed to firing multiple shots from his car toward a crowd at a demonstration in downtown Portland over the weekend.  Police say 27-year-old Skyler Jernigan told officers he was leaving a parking garage near the demonstration Saturday when he heard something hit his car and fired two shots from a handgun.  No one was injured in the shooting.  Police say demonstrators from a flag waving event titled "Stand Up to Domestic Terrorism" were actively engaging with counterprotesters in the area at the time of the incident.  Jernigan faces four counts of unlawful use of a weapon along with other charges.
