Three PPB Officers On Desk Duty Pending Investigation

(Portland, OR)  --  At least three Portland Police officers have been placed on desk duty pending investigations into allegations of misconduct during enforcement of protests.  The Oregonian reports a top aid to Mayor Ted Wheeler's office confirmed yesterday that the three officers have been removed from patrol and protest duties.  One of the officers was recorded on video tackling a protester and then repeatedly punching them in the face.  Protesters in Portland have been demonstrating against police brutality and systemic racism for over 100 straight days in response to the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis in May.
