(Portland, OR)  --  Democratic U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon says climate change is responsible for the unprecedented fires burning in the state.  Merkley spoke alongside Washington state Governor Jay Inslee yesterday on ABC's This Week.  Merkley says he traveled 600 miles through the state and couldn't get away from the smoke.  He ripped into President Trump for claiming the solution is all about forest management.  Merkley says that's just not true.
