OR Fire Marshal Resigns After Allegedly Entering Fire Zone Without Authorization

(Portland, OR)  --  New details are coming to light regarding the sudden resignation of Oregon's top fire official.  The Oregonian reports Fire Marshal Jim Walker was under investigation for allegedly entering an active wildfire zone without proper authorization.  Oregon State Police says Walker lied about having authorization in order to enter the zone to search for human remains on behalf of a concerned state employee.  Walker resigned Saturday, one day after being placed on paid administrative leave.
