(Portland, OR) -- The City of Portland is working on permanent rules for an e-scooter program. During a pilot program, officials say e-scooter riders traveled 415-thousand miles and rode an average distance of slightly more than a mile. Riders were also found to be doing a better job at following the rules regarding e-scooter use. The pilot program runs through the end of the year. The Portland Bureau of Transportation is taking public comment on rules for a permanent program.
