(Portland, OR) -- Portland criminal defense attorney Gary Bertoni has formally surrendered his law license amid charges he stole from clients and failed to pay taxes.  In recent years, Bertoni has been suspended from practicing law for improperly holding onto client funds.  He was also charged with using funds for personal use that he'd taken from his clients that was to be used as restitution for a plea deal.  He was indicted in Multnomah County last month on charges of first-degree theft from a former client.
