Portland Police Investigate Three Separate Stabbings

(Portland, OR)  --  Police are investigating three separate stabbings across the Portland area.  The Portland Police Bureau says all three incidents happened Monday night.  The first one happened at the Gateway MAX station, where a group of four boys allegedly tried to steal a homeless woman's purse and then stabbed her husband after he tried to stop them.  A few hours later, a homeless man walked into a hospital after being stabbed five times near his camp in the Lents neighborhood.  The third stabbing involved a man who was hit by a hatchet, also in the Lents neighborhood.  Police are still searching for suspects.
