(Portland, OR)  --  Businesses in downtown Portland are starting to board up their windows in advance of the General Election on November 3rd.  Authorities say demonstrations are expected.  In 2016, election night protests caused several million dollars in damage.  Portland Police and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office are also working on plans for election night and the days following the election.
