(Salem, OR)  --  An investigation is ongoing into the officer-involved shooting death of a man in Salem.  Police say an officer was performing a traffic investigation yesterday morning near 17th Street and Court Street Northeast when the suspect vehicle crashed and the suspect got out and ran.  The officer pursued him into a backyard, where the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the officer in the ankle.  The officer responded by shooting and killing him.  Police have identified the officer as Andrew Parsons.
