Gray Wolf Delisted

(Salem, OR) -- The gray wolf has been removed from the federal Endangered Species List. Oregon's Wolf Management Plan will now control wolves in the state. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife runs the plan. Hunting and trapping of wolves remains illegal. In some circumstances, problem wolves that repeatedly kill livestock can be lethally removed after certain steps are taken by ranchers. It's estimated there are more than 150 gray wolves in Oregon.
