(Washington, D.C.) -- U.S. Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon says the armed Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol building yesterday committed an assault on democracy. In a statement, Wyden said the riot by insurrectionists caps off four years of Donald Trump fanning the flames of fanaticism. Wyden says every Republican lawmaker who supported the president's effort to overturn a legitimate election shares responsibility for the violence that occurred.
