Salem Fitness Center Fined $126,749

(Salem, OR)  --  A Salem fitness center has been fined nearly 127-thousand dollars for violating the Governor's Executive Order that prevents fitness centers from operating indoor activities in "extreme risk" counties.  Oregon OSHA accuses Capitol Racquet Sports of willfully violating the restrictions.  The company's four locations were also previously fined.  Oregon OSHA Administrator Michael Wood says the company is substituting their judgment for that of public health authorities.  The business can appeal the fine which is the maximum penalty allowed.
