Police Sergeant Rescues Man During Flood

(McMinnville, OR)  --  A McMinnville Police sergeant says he helped rescue a man who was stranded by flood water at Joe Dancer Park.  Early Thursday morning, the sergeant was inspecting the park that was covered by flood water when he thought he heard someone scream.  The sergeant says he then saw a light from a cell phone in the tree line on the other side of the water.  A Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue team responded with an inflatable raft and found a man standing on a log.  He told them he was sleeping when the rising water woke him up.  He thought he was going to drown.  The man was brought to safety.
