Portland To Get Additional 17K COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Next Week

(Portland, OR) -- Governor Kate Brown is sending an additional 17-thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to the Portland area. Brown announced the move yesterday after learning that there weren't enough vaccine doses in the area to cover Phase 1A recipients. County health officials say they had to stop giving vaccinations to health care workers and others in the Phase 1A group in order to prioritize teachers. The move means the Portland region will now be receiving 32-thousand doses of the vaccine instead of the originally anticipated 15-thousand when Oregon gets its next shipment of doses next week.
