(Portland, OR) -- Former Portland Mayor Sam Adams is back at work in the mayor's office. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has hired Adams to serve as director of strategic innovations and to lead work on Wheeler's key second-term policy priorities. Wheeler has also hired Dr. Markisha [[ mark-EE-shuh ]] Smith to be a special adviser on racial justice and equality. She's currently head of the City's Office of Equity and Human Rights and will continue in that job while also working for the mayor.
