DHS Says SNAP Recipients Can Request Food Replacement Amid Outages

(Portland, OR)  --  The Oregon Department of Human Services is reminding SNAP recipients they can request food replacement for food that had to be tossed due to power outages caused by the weekend's winter storm.  The department says it can replace food that's unsafe to eat due to a power outage, home damage or other disaster.  SNAP recipients must ask for replacement benefits within ten days of the loss.
