(Scotts Mills, OR) -- An elderly woman is hospitalized after falling 50 feet into a well near Scotts Mills east of Silverton. Firefighters responded to a property on Crooked Finger Road yesterday after the woman fell through the wooden boards covering the old, rock-lined well. A neighbor called 9-1-1 and then used a rope and pulley to go down into the well and help the woman until medics arrived. The woman suffered hypothermia and serious injuries.
