(Portland, OR) -- A Washington County Sheriff's sergeant is back on the job after being shot by a suspect in 2019. The Sheriff's Office announced yesterday that Sergeant Jeremy Braun has returned to full duty. Braun was shot near Hagg Lake while investigating a theft-in-progress call. Police say the suspect was in a heavily wooded area and ambushed the responding officers. Braun suffered life-threatening injuries and had to undergo physical therapy to relearn how to walk and speak. Braun will spend the next several weeks working with other Patrol Division Sergeants as he learns his new position.
